Hello Millie!

We are delighted to welcome Francesca Anderson to the cast, playing Millicent Fawcett. Recent TV and film credits have included EastEnders, costume drama I, Dido and the soon to be released Heel Drop by Somesuch Films.

We caught up with Francesca shortly before rehearsals began and we asked her about playing Millicent Fawcett.

"Historical figures are often depicted as either hero or villain, saint or sinner. What I love about this piece is it gives both actors and audience a chance to discover these women as complex, emotionally fluid and at times conflicted individuals - not sound bites or slogans, real people with all the contradictions and nuances we all contain.

As an actress it is rare that you are gifted the opportunity to play a character of huge historical significance, living at a time of great political upheaval. I am both excited about the prospect and nervous about the weight of expectation from the audience. I hope that along with the rest of our fabulous creative team, we can, in our own small way, do justice to Millicent and Ottoline."
