Across
the Square
"A funny, charming, poignant show - it was superb!"
A new play full of drama and laughter.
Bringing to life a moment of history to a stage near you.
The story unfolds...
On a cold December day 1917, Lady Ottoline Morrell has crossed Bedford Square to call on Millicent Fawcett to express her condolences for the loss of a beloved sister. Two differing world views are about to collide over a glass of sherry.
Across the Square depicts an imagined encounter between two sharply contrasting women, each of whom inhabits very different spheres.
As patroness of the Bloomsbury Group, Ottoline’s vast circle of friends includes Prime Ministers and novelists, painters and philosophers, whilst Millicent has dedicated her life to the crusade for women’s suffrage.

Will these two find common ground, shared values?
